The Formation Program
The mission of our Seminary Program is the formation of men and women for the Catholic priesthood and diaconate, in the service of the Kingdom of God. Our aim is to establish a foundation within the seminarians for a lifetime of ministry within the Church, open to service to all God’s people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, personal or marital history, financial background or any other perceived impediment they may have formerly encountered.
This foundation is an intimate relationship with God the Father in Jesus Christ His Son through the Holy Spirit; a relationship nourished by Scripture and Tradition, celebrated in the sacraments, especially the Eucharist, and marked by a sincere devotion to the Church and her mission.
Through the interrelated components of priestly formation—human, spiritual, intellectual, pastoral—the seminary strives to train men and women, called as priests to be truly impersona Christi at every moment of their lives, and willing to carry this mark on their soul to the same lengths as Christ Himself; to give their lives for the Church, and her people. The Seminary prepares the Candidate for service in the presbyteral and diaconal orders and a sharing in the three fold role of the Priest; to teach the Gospel, celebrate the sacred mysteries of Christ’s love, and to Shepherd His holy people.
In all of this the Candidate will learn to truly BE the Eucharist they celebrate, and receive.
The realities of the world could seem to some to be an impediment to the development and execution of a holistic and integrated program of Formation. However, the Holy Spirit has guided to our Church men and women of many various backgrounds, to ensure that our Seminarians receive the tools they need to be ardent and well trained Servants of the Gospel. The success of this program relies on the dedication of our Clergy, and their commitment to ensuring a future for the Independent Catholic Church of the Americas that is a true testimony to the dedication, hard work, and love that; laid it’s foundation, and has brought Jesus Christ to so many in the contemporary world.
